Introduction to Radio — Saturday, July 14

This workshop will provide a brief overview of KLBP’s mission as Long Beach’s first public radio station, as well as programming and radio basics. You will have an opportunity to meet program producers to discuss the process of developing music and talk radio programs for 99.1 KLBP-Low Power FM.

Recording and Editing — Saturday, August 4 

11am-1pm

This workshop will be a recording and editing session.  You will learn how to record a positioning statement, program imaging, and the legal ID.  You will also record a 15 minute sample of your program. This sample is talk only. If you are planning a music program,  song intros are fine. We are interested in developing your radio presence.

If you already have audio you want to learn to edit, a professional radio engineer will be teaching the basics including intro and outro music, normalizing audio, manipulating audio files, exporting files etc.  We will be using Audacity Editing Software.

If you plan to record, please bring:

  • A flash drive for your audio file.  We will not email it to you.
  • Any written material you need related to your program
